Supervisor Tavaglione Now Accepting Applications To Join Second District Youth Advisory Council!!
Supervisor John Tavaglione's Second District Youth Advisory Council is now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year. The Second District council is joined together with one common goal in mind -- making a difference in their community. Youth Advisory Council members are leaders who aim to assist those in need, beautify the community, and raise awareness on various youth-related issues within Riverside County. The Council is dedicated to improving and empowering themselves, as well as the community, through service, leadership and fellowship.

Operation SafeHouse Just Became Mobile!
Operation SafeHouse just became mobile! The Riverside Transit Agency, with the support of Supervisor John Tavaglione, donated a 2006 Ford El Dorado Van, which seats up to 12 people and two wheelchairs.

Supervisor Tavaglione to Attend the 7th Annual Salute to Veterans Parade on April 21, 2012
Supervisor Tavaglione is scheduled to attend the 7th Annual Salute to Veterans Parade on April 21, 2012. Parade units will proceed north on Ramona to Magnolia Avenue, and will head right on 10th Street to Main Street. The parade will end two blocks past the Historic Riverside County Courthouse in Riverside. The parade’s reviewing stand and announcers will be located near the corner of Market and 10th Street.

Apply to Fill One of the Second District Vacancies on the Riverside County Mental Health Board
The Riverside County Mental Health Board (MHB) is looking for new members and the Second District has two board vacancies open!
The Mental Health Board is an advisory group, made up of Public, Consumer and Family Member Volunteers who are appointed by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. This Board works in conjunction with the Riverside County Department of Mental Health to help insure public and professional involvement in all stages of the planning process for mental health services that are provided by the county.
Current Second District vacancies on the board include a Family Member opening and a Consumer opening.

Walk-A-Mile In Their Shoes
The County of Riverside, domestic violence survivors, community leaders, prosecutors, UC Riverside staff and students, and law enforcement and service personnel join to walk a (symbolic) mile to protest rape, sexual assault, and gender violence, while raising awareness and educating our community on the devastating physical, mental and financial impacts of domestic/relationship violence.
