Rubidoux Area 3: Tilton, 42nd, Briggs, Leigh, Pontiac, Twining, Wallace, Rubidoux, Fort, Molino, Carol

The Rubidoux Area 3 Project was approved for funding in July of 2005, under the Design and Construction Administration by the Riverside County Transportation Department. The project includes sidewalk, lighting, and street improvements to side streets south of Mission Boulevard in the unincorporated community of Rubidoux.

Due to right-of-way acquisitions, the project will be constructed in two phases. Phase I includes Tilton Avenue (Briggs Street to Twining Avenue), Briggs Street, Leigh Street, Pontiac Avenue, 42nd Street, and storm drain improvement on Pacific Avenue (Limonite Avenue to Mission Boulevard). Phase I requires 193 right-of-entries, and is estimated to begin winter of 2009. Phase II consists of streets located east of Pontiac Avenue including Fort Drive, Twining Avenue, Molino Way, Mennes Avenue, Wallace Street, Capary Road, Carol Way. Phase II requires 98 right-of-way dedications and 290 right-of-entries, and is estimated to begin construction in July of 2012.

Glen Avon Downtown Revitalization

The Glen Avon Revitalization Project consists of two phases. Phase I includes the construction of a cul-de-sac at the intersection of Bellegrave Avenue and Mission Boulevard. Phase II includes design and future rehabilitation of existing streetscape with decorative pavers, concrete planters, trash receptacles, benches, a raised landscaped median with cobblestone river rock on Mission Boulevard from Pedley Road to Kenneth Street, in the unincorporated community of Glen Avon. The Bellegrave Avenue cul-de-sac is currently under construction and estimated to be completed by fall of 2009. The second phase is estimated for construction in spring 2010.

Mission Boulevard Phase III Streetscape: Crestmore- Riverview

Parkway lighting is scheduled to be installed and energized in July of 2011.

Temescal Canyon Road Landscape Enhancements

The Temescal Canyon Road Landscape Enhancement is a Street Beautification Project along El Cerrito Road from the 1-15 freeway to Temescal Canyon Road with median landscaping and new curb, gutter and sidewalk on both sides of El Cerrito Road. The project is currently under design and construction is scheduled to begin in August 2011.

Rubidoux Area 2: Crestmore, Daly, Wallace, 34th, 35th, 36th, 37th,Odell

The Rubidoux Area 2 Street Beautification Project consists of the rehabilitation and renovation of Crestmore Road, Daly Avenue, Wallace, 37th, Odell, 36th, 35th and 34th Streets located in the Community of Rubidoux. In order to increase the overall safety and aesthetics of the community, plans will include new sidewalks with ADA access, curb, gutter, drainage, lighting, and street improvements. Estimated to begin construction in April 2012 pending right-of-way issues.

Rubidoux Boulevard Streetscape Phase II & III

The Rubidoux Boulevard Streetscape Improvement Project has been developed to construct infill sidewalks, replace unusable portions of sidewalk, and median drainage improvements. This project has been divided into three different phases in order to expedite design, development and construction. Phase I is located from 24th Street to 30th Street has been completed. Phase II from Mission Boulevard to the 60 Freeway; and, Phase III from Rubidoux Boulevard from 24th Street to Avalon Street, and Market Street from Rubidoux to Agua Mansa are in the final design stage and construction is slated to begin July 2011.

Phase I of this project included curb, gutter and sidewalks along Rubidoux Boulevard from 30th Street to 24th Street. These improvements will assist in eliminating visual blight, and will help to revitalize the community of Rubidoux.
